We are proud of our environmental efforts and our commitment to responsible business practices—through which we actively reduce our environmental impact and support local initiatives.
Throughout our operations, we have implemented measurable energy solutions, reduced our waste, and set strict requirements for our purchasing. All to protect the mountain environment around us.
Our responsibility extends even further than that. We collaborate with local enthusiasts and organizations to give back to the community and the people of the Åre Valley. Through these initiatives, we take on a responsibility that involves not only working to protect the natural environment we depend on, but also working to foster a sense of security and care in our local community.
We are proud to be a Nordic Swan-labeled hotel—one of the Nordic region’s most recognized eco-labels. This means that we meet strict requirements in areas such as energy, water, waste, and chemicals, and actively work to reduce our environmental impact.

Throughout Strawberry, we place a strong emphasis on food. Our goal is to serve dishes that not only taste fantastic but also do good—through traceable ingredients, mindful choices, and reduced food waste.
Seasonal and Local: We change our menu based on the season and prioritize ingredients from local producers.
Completely palm oil-free: We have removed all products that contain palm oil.
Organic options:Our breakfast buffet features a selection of certified organic products.
Less red meat: We have reduced the amount of red meat on our menus, and groups are always given the option to choose a completely vegetarian menu.
The Åre Women’s Shelter is largely run by volunteers and does invaluable work, but at present, its resources only allow for support via phone and chat during certain hours. Their vision is to be able to offer a safe haven to more vulnerable women in the municipality and to spread awareness in schools and workplaces to combat men’s violence against women.
We at Copperhill Mountain Lodge want to do our part to support this important work. One way we do this is together with you, our guest: if you choose to forgo your daily room cleaning, we’ll donate the amount equivalent to the time saved directly to Kvinnojouren Åre.
We are the first hotel in Åre to adopt the Hotellkurage initiative. Domestic violence usually takes place behind closed doors—at home or in a hotel room—and for us, it goes without saying that we must take a stand and act rather than turn a blind eye.
Hotel Courage is a practical tool that ensures both our employees and you, as a guest, know how to act if you suspect something is amiss. To turn words into action, we do the following:
Training: All our staff receive ongoing training on this topic so they can recognize warning signs.
Clear Procedures: We have established action plans detailing exactly how our employees should intervene and raise the alarm if a concerning situation arises.
Openness: By talking openly about the problem, we are breaking the culture of silence.
Through knowledge and clear guidelines, we work together to create a safer place for everyone.
Our most important goal is for both our employees and guests to feel comfortable. Everything is connected—when our team is doing well, it’s directly reflected in the hospitality we provide.
For us, genuine accountability also involves how we act as an employer. That is why we are building a safe and healthy work environment founded on hands-on, responsive leadership. We continuously invest in leadership training and let strong, shared values guide our day-to-day work.
