New Samí spa at Copperhill Mountain Lodge
In December 2010, Copperhill Mountain Lodge will open up the doors to its new spa. Compared to the earlier version of the spa, which won the European Hotel Design Awards in 2009, the new spa will be larger, new features are added and the Samí atmosphere will be enhanced. Altogether it will be an exclusive Samí inspired mountain spa, designed to be a place for relaxation and contemplation.
Introduction of the four elements
The culture of the region’s indigenous Samí people has been the inspiration for Copperhill's new spa. Essential to the Samí are Nature's four elements:
- Earth/Plants - The SPA is built in rustic and genuine natural materials. The color scheme is earthy, dominated by locally sourced wood and rock, like slate and pine. The treatment rooms are designed like Samí tipis. Here you can relax below a starry sky, with the scent of birch oil and the sounds of traditional music “jojk”. All spa products are from Swedish Kerstin Florian, based on natural resources including thermal mineral water, mud, algae, herbal extracts and essential oils.
- Water - Water brings life. The new spa will have "hot springs" with still water, both outdoors and indoors.
- Fire - The new spa will have an open fireplace, representing warmth and love. Relaxing and soothing, just to rest your eyes on.
- Sun - Natural light and sunshine is flooding through panoramic windows. Step right outside of the sauna to have a snow roll, or relax in the new outdoor hot spring, with magnificent views of Mount Åreskutan. Open air, vast expanses and the sense of freedom is surrounding you everywhere.
New private spa section
The new spa will also have a private section that can be booked for smaller groups. Here you have your own relax area, a jacuzzi spa pool, and a bar with drinks and snacks.
