Copperhill opens the doors to Petter A. Stordalen’s private villa in Åre

Judicious mountain travellers can now hire a private villa in Åre that is owned by the Norwegian hotel magnate, Petter A. Stordalen. The Copperhill Mountain Lodge design hotel operates and rents out the 700 sq. m. mountain residence, which has spectacular interior design and magnificent views. Its name is simply The Villa.

The Villa is located at the top of Åre-Björnen’s ski field, next to Copperhill Mountain Lodge and Åre’s lift system. It is an exclusive timber villa with modern architecture and is available for hire throughout the year. The target groups are primarily families and corporate groups who want private and elegant surroundings in which to meet and socialise.

“We wanted to create something that was unlike anything else in Scandinavia – a timeless and exclusive winter resort at the heart of Åre. When I arrive at The Villa, it’s a little like coming home. This is my winter wonderland at any time of the year,” says Petter A. Stordalen, owner and guest in The Villa, and owner and chairman of the board of Choice Hotels Scandinavia.

Its interior was created by the Norwegian interior designer Anemone Wille Våge – in demand for her designs for hotels, restaurants and large private residences, including the Norwegian royal couple’s private apartments.

The Villa can accommodate up to 16 people and its offer includes eight bedrooms, a kitchen, spa, gym, conference facilities and bespoke services. Guests can choose between a private chef on site, catering via Copperhill Mountain Lodge or cooking for themselves. The Villa’s guests are also offered helicopter transport, spa treatments, housekeeping, childcare, private ski instruction, hunting and fishing guides.
