10 March 2010Copperhill Mountain Lodge in Åre hosted the premiere viewing of the latest Maserati sports car, with a launch that took place over three days in early March. The official unveiling was on Wednesday night, during a cocktail in the hotel’s lobby, in the company of the importer Autoropa’s customers, professional drivers and Maserati’s Italian management.
“Copperhill Mountain Lodge was the natural choice. The hotel suits our brand, because of its focus on high quality service, good products and a sense of detail,” says Jennie Andersson, marketing manager for Autoropa AB. “Holding the launch here gives us a unique chance to meet our customers when they are relaxed and at leisure.”
The new model, Gran Cabrio, is Maserati’s first ever convertible. This type of car is often associated with summer, but has been launched and test driven in the winter landscape of Åre. For its premiere at Copperhill Mountain Lodge, cars were displayed in front of the 28-metre tall fireplace in the hotel lobby, framed by film projections, music and cocktails for the invited guests. The event continued through the week, with test drives on the ice of Lake Kallsjön.
“We are delighted to have had Maserati here,” says Pernilla Gravenfors, hotel director for Copperhill Mountain Lodge. “Using the hotel lobby for a car launch has been one of our dreams – and now we know that we can do it. The combination of beautiful sports cars and the hotel’s fantastic architecture was even more impressive than we’d imagined. The lobby’s large open spaces make most things possible, so now we’re looking forward to arranging more spectacular events.”
